The ING New York City Marathon is premier event and one of the world's great road races, drawing more than 100,000 applicants annually. The race attracts many world-class professional athletes, not only for the more than $600,000 in prize money, but also for the chance to excel in the media capital of the world before two million cheering spectators and 315 million worldwide television viewers. As any one of the more than 700,000 past participants will attest, crossing the finish line in Central Park is one of the great thrills of a lifetime. Global CDH was offered 5 entries and offered one of those to The Parker Reese Foundation. Together we will help spread awareness for 26.2 miles! On November 7, 2010 Lindsay Love Culpepper will run for The Parker Reese Foundation. She will be 1 of 5 members that will make up Team GCDH. Our goal is to raise $2500 that will go towards raising awareness for CDH and genetic research through DHREAMS, Diaphragmatic Hernia Research & Exploration, Advancing Molecular Science. "To conquer a marathon is quite a task, but it is nothing in comparison to what the families of CDH patients go through everyday. It was truly an honor and a blessing to be asked to run in support of CDH awareness and represent The Parker Reese Foundation. As a runner who has participated in many events, I know that running the NYC Marathon will be my greatest event yet. However, getting to be involved with The Parker Reese Foundation and the wonderful people behind it, will surely make this my most memorable event yet. I can't wait to use these 26.2 miles (and hundreds of miles of training) to help spread the word and build awareness of a cause that needs our attention! See you at the finish line..."
